Leweston day one

Today we waved good bye to our first billets in Watford and headed off towards Leweston. On our way we stopped at Oxford for 2- 3 hours of sightseeing and shopping. What a place! So beautiful.
We then headed off to visit a few stones.

Only a quick stop here for a photo opportunity then back into the bus to get to Sherborne in time for a quick walk through. What a very nice place! We will spend the next two nights here as we do battle with Leweston across the 3 sports.
Our first sport was a swimming carnival or as the English say "Gala". This being our first swimming opportunity, it was a great way to have all the girls involved. 14 of the 16 on tour stepped up to race across a wide variety of events including 4 different types of relays.

Chelsea and Elena swimming in their first race. Not exactly sprinting as they had a large number of races to follow so swam just fast enough to stay in front.

Chelsea and Elena led the way for the team swimming in all events possible!
All members of the team swam in at least all of the relays. Some of the girls did feel the pinch as the meet unfolded but continued to step onto the blocks with a positive attitude. It was great to see so many of them prepared to have a go at events that they had never swum before.

A fantastic start to our time with the Leweston girls. Tonight our girls have headed home with their billets for a greatly earned rest. Tomorrow we head off to Bath for a day trip before returning to Leweston for netball, soccer and some more swimming.
